Corporate Citizenship

Throughout the year NLC supports hundreds of community and charitable organizations. We donate dollars, goods, services and professional expertise to non-profit groups and organizations whose principle area of interest is in education, wellness and community cultural and environmental causes. These groups and organizations work to protect our culture, community and environment and are involved primarily in research, development, education and preventing problems associated with irresponsible drinking and alcohol abuse.

NLC Corporate Giving for 2011-2012 included support for:
YMCA YWCA of Northeast Avalon
Daffodil Place
Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation
Vera Perlin Society
Stella Burry Foundation
Marguerite’s Place
Iris Kirby House
Kids Eat Smart Foundation
Memorial University of Newfoundland
Home from the Sea - Sealers Memorial
Capital Campaign Royal Canadian Legion (Veterans Poppy Campaign)
Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre
Choices For Youth
Canadian Mental Health Association (Newfoundland and Labrador)
Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador

NLC is also a sponsor of the MADD School Assembly Program. In the fall of 2011, NLC sponsored "Damages", a film which was shown to students in 25 high schools across the province. Damages depicts situations and choices that most young people will face at one time or another, the film shows the impact of those choices and gives students the facts and information they need to keep themselves and their peers safe from impaired driving. NLC will sponsor the MADD School Assembly Program again in the fall of 2012.
