2010 - an exceptional year in Bordeaux!

Ideal dry conditions persisted in Bordeaux throughout the key months of August and September. This coupled with the fact that producers maintained low yields has led to a highly concentrated vintage full of finesse and power!

This vintage is being heralded as "historic" and "classic". It features a myriad of wines which all Bordeaux lovers should have in their cellar. The reds are deeply coloured with an incredible density of fruit, elevated acidity, and record breaking levels of both tannin and alcohol. The key to the vintages ultimate success is how well balanced the wines are - with the acidity, alcohol, tannin and fruit tightly woven together, demanding time in the bottle to soften. These wines are built to age, with many of the top growths only going to get better over the next four to five decades! The dry whites are rich and unctuous with firm backbones. The botrytis affected sweet whites are wonderfully candied, with the perfect amount of mouth-watering acidity to keep them from seeming heavy or excessive.

A Bordeaux Futures program is a great way to buy top-quality Bordeaux wines before they are released in the retail market. There is such worldwide demand for key wines from Bordeaux that producers sell a portion of their wine as Futures, that is 12 to 18 months before bottling, while the wines are still ageing in barrel.

Bordeaux Futures offer significant savings. Most of the wines are later retailed at substantially higher prices. Futures offerings include everything from up-and-coming chateaux to illustrious producers such as Latour, Margaux, Haut Brion, Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild.

Many of these wines are produced in very small quantities and are often only available as Futures. Given the growing demand for top-quality Bordeaux wines, especially in Eastern Europe, South Asia and East Asia, buying Futures is the best way to secure these wines.
