Program Manager (Data / Business Intelligence)

Reporting to the IT Manager, Data & Information Management, this position is responsible for the following:
  •   Develop proposed architectures in keeping with corporate objectives, standards, strategies, and goals
  •   Produce and maintain architectural documentation and diagrams
  •   Define IT policies, procedures and standards to be implemented and followed for enterprise solutions
  •   Provide new product ideas - innovations, recommendations on new and emerging technologies, existing infrastructure, technology prototypes, and process improvements
  •   Produce detailed designs for integrations of new systems within existing infrastructure
  •   Work with systems and DBAs to implement server and storage architectures using industry best practices
  •   Work independently, prioritize and multitask in a dynamic environment, adapt quickly to change and manage multiple projects simultaneously. The individual must be able to show leadership skills and have the ability to lead small teams in design and development efforts
  •   Lead complex design sessions, work closely with customer and business partners to establish requirements in order to develop a given solution
  •   Document and define Logical and Physical data models for corporate wide applications, as well as creating the Data Process Model's for all source systems that feed into the DWH
  •   Manage schema, hierarchies, models and cubes to maximize usability and business relevance and ensure validity of the data in the data warehouse
  •   Participate in requirement definition, solution development and implementation phases of data warehouse and reporting projects
  •   Provide leadership, direction, mentoring and assistance to all team members in an effort to foster growth and development
  •   Work with third party vendors to develop solutions that meet the technical, functional and business requirements outlined by the Data & Information Management team
  •   Work with Technical Designers to ensure all applications are architected to meet NLC data standards
  •   Provide end to end support for production environments including after hours on-call rotation duties
  •   Build and Support data Integrations and ensure they all follow NLC standards and guidelines

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
  •   Two (2) to three (3) year post-secondary diploma in computer studies
  •   Minimum ten (10) years Information technology field
  •   Advanced knowledge in conceptual, logical and/or physical data modeling, with proficiency in schema design and modeling, code review and stored procedure design
  •   Proficient knowledge and experience working with SQL Server BI stack (SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
  •   Knowledge of Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) or Data Warehouse (OLAP) databases
  •   Working knowledge with Dashboards, data mining, and visualization tools would be an asset
  •   Capable of investigating, familiarizing, and mastering new data sets quickly
  •   Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex data issues correctly and clearly to both internal and external partners
  •   Experience with system integration, system planning, security and software management best practices
  •   Experience with development of application, data and infrastructure architecture deliverables
  •   Proven analytical, creative problem solving and collaborative decision making abilities
  •   Project Management skills is a definite asset
  •   Experience in large-scale, cross- functional projects, processes and systems related to supply chain management, retail, wholesale, POS, logistics and warehouse management would be an asset
