As a member of the Information Technology department, this position is accountable for the following:

  • Clarifies business requirements with clients and challenges as necessary to ensure workable and optimum solutions are designed, agreed, and signed off;
  • Analyses and assesses dependencies and the impact of proposed changes on existing and planned applications architecture;
  • Prepares work estimates, plans, and schedules;
  • Participates in project review to ensure that requirements are fully understood;
  • Conducts feasibility studies and prepares RFP documents;
  • Provides technical support on existing software products;
  • Maintains and supports production and test SQL server environments;
  • Performs SQL Server installations, configurations, optimizations, security configuration and backups;
  • Codes additional functionality according to business requirements and creates scripts, tables, views, and procedures;
  • Creates and maintain application integrations as required;
  • Designs and produces forms and reports as required;
  • Ensures enhancements and modifications are correct and adhere to departmental standards;
  • Ensures all unit or system testing is adequate and reviewed with users.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • University Degree with a major in Computer Science or a Professional Diploma in Computer Studies from an accredited technical college;
  • 3 - 5 years business analysis experience, including 2 years experience in a consultative role to business users;
  • Strong SQL Server and Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) skills would be considered a strong asset;
  • Proven experience in researching products, solutions, and best practices within specified functional areas;
  • Thorough knowledge of facilitation techniques and methods for reaching consensus;
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills;
  • Broad knowledge of business/industry operations, business practices and methodologies such as Retail, Purchasing, Supply Chain;
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office 2010/2013 including Visio and Project;
  • Proven analytical, creative problem solving and collaborative decision making abilities;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service and consulting skills;
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Web/Application Development and/or Business Collaboration tools would be considered an asset.

Salary: CG 37: $62,556.00 – $69,868.50 per annum
